How We Began
It started with one guesthouse.
In 1998, Alessandro's parents opened the doors of a single guest room in the family home near the Kalsa — a way of sharing the Palermo they loved with the travellers who found their way to it. There was no website, no booking platform, just a key, a coffee pot and a genuine welcome.
Today, that same spirit runs through every home in our collection. We've grown from one room to twelve, but we still greet every guest ourselves, still recommend our favourite trattoria by name, and still believe hospitality is something you do in person — never outsourced, never automated.

“I don't manage apartments — I look after homes that happen to have guests in them. If something needs fixing, I fix it myself. If you need a restaurant recommendation at 11pm, message me and I'll answer.”
Alessandro grew up answering the door for his parents' first guests, and took the family business into its next chapter — bringing every property online, into six languages, and onto a single, direct-booking home. He still personally checks in guests who want to meet him, and still believes the best reviews are earned one small gesture at a time.

The Saitta family opens its first guest room near the Kalsa, greeting travellers with home-cooked breakfast and local advice.
2009
Growing the collection
Word of mouth and glowing reviews lead to a second, then a third property — each restored and styled by hand.
2016
Full-time hospitality
Alessandro joins the business full-time, expanding onto Booking.com and Airbnb and professionalising every step of the guest journey.
